Update and Understanding of Gadolinium presence in the Brain:

Since the first publication of signal intensity (SI) increase in the dentate nucleus and globus pallidus brain areas on unenhanced MR images after repeated gadolinium based contrast agent (GBCA) exposure by Kanda et al., numerous scientific investigations have been initiated to better understand the origin of this SI increase. Bayer, as a leader in radiology, has initiated its own pre-clinical research program in order to evaluate these clinical findings and provide scientific education around the topic.
